Dr. Denise K. Wood realized the benefits research thinking during graduate school when she was a world class track and field athlete and coach at The University of Tennessee. See
Sports Training Adviser Bio
She was inspired to improve sport performance by making sense of the apparent disconnects between research studies and athletics. She earned her doctorate in exercise science with a concentration in research design and statistical analysis during the peak years of her athletic career.
In addition to her skills in making sound training decisions in athletics, Dr. Wood's expertise in research and assessment opened many doors in education, business, and health sciences during her career pursuits in teaching, administration, and entrepreneurial business ventures.
As a Director of Research, Dr. Wood taught and guided formal applied research projects for hundreds of working adult students, helping them solve problems in a variety of work settings.
As a Dean and Vice President in higher education, Dr. Wood realized that effective strategic planning and evaluation for colleges and organizations is much the same as for successful sports training. She created the flexible, systematic ADVISER Goal Achievement Model to guide the progress of individuals, groups, and organizations toward their goals.
Now a consultant and author, Dr. Wood and her colleagues apply the ADVISER Model across fields and professions. If you would like to learn how we can assist you, please complete the form below. We will be happy to help you target and achieve your goals.
